On Wednesday evening under the Iffley Road floodlights, the Women’s Blues put together a strong performance against the powerhouse of Cardiff Met University, but ultimately the women for Wales proved a little too strong. The Blues started strongly and came close to opening the scoring on a couple of occasions, only for the Cardiff scramble defence to deny them a try. Once the visitors got the journey out of their legs and started to find their rhythm they were able to put together some continuity, which despite resolute defence from the Blues eventually resulted in a score.
The final score of 44 points to 10 in favour of Cardiff was somewhat flattering to the visitors and the Blues can take great heart from a performance full of spirit and no little skill as they look forward to the visit of Exeter University to Iffley Road on Wednesday 21st November, kick-off 2.30pm.
