The Oxford University Rugby Football Club Men’s squad have returned home after a week-long high performance training camp in Toulon.

After two intensive weeks of training and a pre-season match at Iffley Road, Head Coach James Wade’s Dark Blues flew to the South of France for a dedicated week of training, matches and team building to kick-start Oxford’s Varsity Match campaign.

The tour was operated in conjunction with PSA Academies and offered the chance for the OURFC backs to benefit from a valuable session with their Director and former France captain and Head Coach Philippe Saint Andre, along with a number of specialist sessions.

The training camp saw competitive games against Toulon Espoirs and local club side La Basseut at the Stade Marquet.

With the squad now back at Oxford, captain Fergus Taylor will be preparing his squad for their first fixture of the season away at Esher on Monday 26 September as the road to Twickenham begins.

The 135th Varsity Match and The 30th Women’s Varsity Match between Oxford and Cambridge will return to Twickenham on Thursday 8th December, with tickets on sale online now.
