The Cambridge University Rugby Union Football Club has recently returned home after their week-long pre-season camp in Portugal.

It was straight into a strict routine for the Light Blues; with no time being wasted by Head Coach James Shanahan aiming to get his boys back into shape as quickly as possible. Each morning consisted of an intense gym session which was then followed by fitness and field drills in the afternoon.

The camp was also a great opportunity for the players to have some one-on-one time with the coaches, preparing their bodies for the long hours they will be putting in before The Varsity Match.

With the squad now back in Cambridge, Captain Daniel Dass will be rallying his squad ahead of the first game of the season at home against Loughborough on Wednesday the 28th of September. Entry for students and OAPs at Grange Road will be free.

The 135th Varsity Match and The 30th Women’s Varsity Match between Oxford and Cambridge will return to Twickenham on Thursday 8th December, with tickets on sale online now.
