We are excited to announce our fantastic presenter and commentators’ line-up who will deliver expert insight and analysis of both matches.
Bryn Lucas, who is a staple at Twickenham, will be returning as television presenter, bringing years of experience presenting high-profile sports events for a variety of television and online platforms. The commentary team will be led by experienced tv presenter Simon Ward, alongside Rugby World Cup winner and Harlequins centre Rachael Burford.
Simon moved into Rugby Union as a host and commentator after 15 years as an actor on West End. He has commentated on tv and radio for hundreds of matches, including 4 Men’s World Cups, 3 Women’s World Cups and a Rugby 7s World Cup in San Francisco. He was also the voice of Twickenham for 17 years as a stadium host/announcer. His first experience at Twickenham was being taken to the Varsity Match by his school at the age of 9. The Varsity Matches are and have always been a highlight of his year. Simon will commentate this historical day for the 9th time now.
Rachael will be bringing unique insight gained during a glittering career that spans four Rugby World Cups, including England’s historic win in 2014. Away from her successes on the pitch, Rachael co-founded the Girls Rugby Club, a global coaching platform specifically designed for girls. Burford is a staple in the women’s premiership and has been one of the most successful players to transition to broadcasting.
