Daniel Dass has made three changes to his Cambridge University side from the team that lost to Loughborough University in their opening game for the traditional ‘Town v Gown’ clash with Cambridge RFC at Grange Road tonight (kick-off 7.30pm).
The 20-year-old Scottish scrum half Dougal Balfour gets his chance as he comes off the bench in a switch with Seb Tullie. There are two changes in the front row; hooker Fionn Dillon Kelly gives way to Andew Burnett, while prop Johnny Dixon is switched with last week’s replacement, Demitri Moros.
Cambridge pipped Loughborough by a single point in a league match last weekend, 35-34, but have been up against it in tonight’s annual fixture in recent seasons. The Light Blues triumphed 59-12 last year, were 41-7 victors’ in 2014 and won 31-12 in 2012.
There will be plenty of activity at Grange Road in the build-up to the big game with the LX Club faing United Hospitals at 4.00pm and an U12 Mini Rugby game at 6.00pm.
